Matt founded Montgomery Construction in 2014 in Lexington, South Carolina, after being in the industry for years and realizing that there was a significant need for a high-quality mid-sized General Contractor in the Carolinas. Matt has an extensive portfolio that includes projects he led on both the east and west coasts in excess of $300 million, as both an Owner Representative and as a Contractor. He has a vast knowledge of all types of projects ranging from ground-up high-rise buildings to industrial upfits. Matt believes deeply in building long lasting professional relationships with his clients and industry partners, by ensuring that their construction visions are fully met in a friendly, cost-effective, and collaborative manner.

Matt has a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California, along with an unlimited-dollar General Contractor’s license, Construction Manager certificate, and a Broker’s license. He is very active in the community as he attends The Harvest Church, Chairs for the American Heart Association Heart Ball, is a member of the Spence Plantation Board and several local Chambers of Commerce, and contributes to many local non-profit groups. Matt resides in Lexington, South Carolina with his wife, Erin, and their four children, Grant, Abby, Carter, and Hayes.
